If you are unfamiliar with the term social media, you need to get with the program. Social media is defined as a type of media that is based on conversations and interactions between people online. In other words, its the wave of the future. As a public relations pro and freelance writer, Ive seen first hand just how powerful social media can be when branding a product, shaping policy and/or raising awareness of an organization or business. Gone are the days of using only advertising to get your name out there to consumers. Today its all about using social media sites such as blogs, Twitter and even Facebook. The best thing about utilizing these sites is that, unlike advertising, its free and very potent when it comes to reaching a broad audience.
Stay tuned for my next blog post, which will explore the importance of joining the social media revolution.
